Evaluating the impacts of the transition from open-pit to underground mining on sustainable development indexes

Sustainable development is about creating a balance between and environment, it consists of three essential principles: society, economy. Today, one the most important challenges in deep open pit mines transition from to underground, which has positive negative impacts on sustainable indexes. In order reduce these adverse impacts, impact various parts operation indexes should be evaluated corrective preventive measures implemented. this study, using hybrid semi-quantitative approach, effects Songun copper mine were evaluated. The obtained results showed that greatest economic index with value 67.72 percent. addition, amount environmental social 41.74 39.84% respectively. meantime, significant was determined components such as production rate productivity, life, capital cost, mineral income per ton ore, closure (and reclamation) Initial investment returns, post–mining land use type.
